Through much prayer and consultation, we have decided to transition TNT from a large group model to a small group model with parents at the center of leadership and discipleship. Our prayer is that we will have greater growth in friendships, discipleship, and understanding of God's word. This new model will carry these kids into Junior High and beyond ready to lean on God, each other, and the parents that have showed them God's love over the years.
We are filled with gratitude for those who have poured into our kids on Tuesday nights over the years: Rhett, Keith, Monty, and Mr. Ken! What a special and unforgettable ministry it has been!
Moving towards our goal of small groups, we are happy to introduce...Backyard Bible Clubs! We invite all incoming 5th and 6th graders to join us once a month for some small group fun in backyards. Our heart is to see the kids thrive in a smaller group setting, friendships deepen and grow, and to promote parent involvement in our kids' spiritual discipleship.
We will meet once in July (week of July 1st/2nd), once in August (week of August 5th/6th), and once in September (week of September 9th/10th) in backyards of church families. Each home will have 8-10 kids per backyard for one hour. The kids will be assigned to backyards in the following ways: boys groups will be led by two or more dads and girls will be led by two or more moms. At registration, you will be able to add a buddy for your child to make sure they have a friend in their group. Kids will play fun games, girls will do crafts, and they will go through a devotional book with their leaders. Registration is $25 for the summer, which includes the devotional and pizza every session.
